Dís – Dyed

Dís (the fairy) is always made from lambswool. It is 2ply, fingering weight and 100 gram give 440 meters (481 yards) of yarn. Needle size 1,5 to 3,0 is recommended and the gauge for needle size 3,0 is 24 sts per 30 rounds for 10×10 cm.
In each ball of coloured dís are 75 meters of yarn.

Buying yarn online with Uppspuni is a little different – because every batch of yarn we make is a little different.

We don’t bleach our fleeces to standardise colors in either our natural or our dyed yarns. Every batch of yarn is unique because every sheep fleece is unique.

Because of this, we  suggest you buy enough for your project from the same batch, as no two batches are ever exactly the same.
